Front-load machines from Samsung, LG, Bosch, Beko and IFB are the most common ones we see in Kathmandu flats. The usual problems are drain blockages (hair, coins and lint in the pump filter), door-lock faults, worn drum bearings that roar during spin, and error codes after a power cut.
Many front-load faults show as an error code on the display. Read the code to us on the phone. It tells the technician which parts to bring, which saves you a second visit.
Top-load fully automatic machines often stop spinning because of a worn belt, a clutch or gearbox problem, or a lid switch fault. Semi-automatic twin-tub machines usually need a wash or spin motor, a capacitor, a timer or a belt.
These are common Whirlpool, LG, Samsung and Panasonic models, and most parts are available in Kathmandu, so many repairs are finished in one visit.
Check that the tap is fully open and the plug and socket work. On a front-load machine, try cleaning the pump filter behind the small flap at the bottom front. If the machine still does not work, note the brand, model and any error code, and call us.
